a portrait of real life, not of fabricated cinema.

I am Candace Parker. a Christian in love with the Lord. a photographer. an artist. always learning. always growing. born in '90. currently in California. I do this for me; I do this to remember.
serendipity (n) - happy accidents.

serendipity is how I initially started taking photography seriously.  a schedule conflict in 11th grade was resolved by my enrollment in 6th period photo class.  and then I fell in love.  film is where it all started and film will always have my heart.  there’s no real comparison in my eyes.  I don’t know what type of photographer I would describe myself as, but I guess “conceptual” is the best description I can come up with.  I would love to shoot fashion, but I’ve realized my strongest work (in my eyes at least) is my conceptual stuff (like this picture).  I constantly find myself thinking “I wish I was more creative” but revisiting some of my old pictures I see that I’m more creative than I give myself credit for.  I also really appreciate the beauty of candid moments, how honest they are; no posing, no overthinking, no conscious realization of the shutter freezing a second of time.  there is so much beauty in the world that is overlooked by so many, and I just want people to take the time to realize that life truly is beautiful.
